Position Description

Title: Med-Surg RN

Location: Rochester, Minnesota

Job Type: 13 Weeks Contract

Shifts: 8-Hour Shifts (Evening & Weekend rotations), 12-Hour Shifts (Day/Night rotation, Every 3rd Weekend), Straight Nights (Every 3rd Weekend)

Job Summary: The Med-Surg RN will be responsible for coordinating and delivering comprehensive patient care across various practice settings. This position requires strong acute care experience, including direct patient care, education, and managing transitions of care. The RN will work closely with a collaborative healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate nursing care for assigned patients, including direct patient care, education, and ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Implement and evaluate nursing care plans, ensuring that patients' needs are met.
  • Provide patient and family education related to care, treatments, and safety.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and clinical outcomes.
  • Support quality improvement efforts and ensure patient safety.
  • Act as a mentor and preceptor for new staff and students.
  • Adhere to nursing standards, protocols, and policies, ensuring the highest quality of care.
  • Manage patient care transitions, making appropriate referrals as necessary.
  • Participate in committees or projects as needed to support hospital initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory policies.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Be flexible with shift assignments, including rotating shifts and weekend coverage.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accredited).
  • Experience: 2 years of recent acute hospital care experience required. At least one year of U.S. travel experience.
  • Arizona & Florida: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • Midwest: BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required, with course completion within the last 3 months.

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
